NETFLIX WATCH: Find out the latest about “UMBRELLA ACADEMY,” Season 2

In 1986 forty-three children were born simultaneously from forty-three different women who weren’t pregnant. Seven of these children were adopted by billionaire Reginald Hargreeves. In order to save the world, Hargreeves founds The Umbrella Academy, a school where young children grow up, develop their power and save people.

In Season 1, Klaus, Luther, Allison, Diego, number 5, Vanya and Ben tried to save the world from the apocalypse (unsuccessfully), while their brotherhood, in tatters for many years, healed injuries borne of the past.
Even if the cliffhanger at the end of the season hinted loudly and clearly that a sequel was in the works, nothing had been finalized quite yet. Recently, however, “Umbrella Academy” made it official, with filming planned for this summer, code-named “Project Mercury.”

Cool thing is, we’ll have the sweet pleasure of finding most of the cast from the first season–with Ellen Page leading the fray–engrossed in a new race against the end of the world. Alongside Page will be Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min.

No release date announced yet for Season 2. In the meanwhile, S1 of “Umbrella Academy” is on Netflix.
