Martin Scorsese to shoot BIOPIC about Taylor-Burton

The tweetosphere is alive with the sound of big Hollywood gossip. It looks like Martin Scorsese will be making a feature film (it’ll be the ‘epic’ genre) about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s stormy, on-again off-again relationship, as reported first by Deadline Hollywood.

The film is adapted from a novel by a couple of Vanity Fair writers and is called “Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century.” Burton and Taylor (she passed away last March and Burton died in 1984)) were married and divorced twice, their conjugal spats were the stuff of legend. As rumor would have it, Black Swan actor Natalie Portman would play Liz Taylor—not a bad choice although Rachel Weisz would have brought more grandeur to the role of the “Cleopatra” actress. Burton and Taylor met on the set of “Cleopatra.”
