EDDIE REDMAYNE CROWNED BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR, BIRDMAN WINS BEST DIRECTOR AND MORE IN OSCARS UPSET

Last Updated: February 24, 2015By Tags:

It was a magical night in Tinseltown, during which the stars were aligned and the year’s great films and the people who made them happen were rewarded richly and rightly. Well, almost. The Clint Eastwood-directed “American Sniper” fell tonight under enemy fire. Are academy voters turning into tree-huggers on me? Where’s the love?

This year voters sent a strong anti-war message by leaving the perfect-score “Sniper” out of the limelight.

Maybe it’s just as well? The war depicted in “Sniper” is the indirect and long-winded reason why we’ll probably be seeing Jihadi John on the news again tonight or tomorrow night. The 2003 conflict, a lie fabricated by the insane clown posse running our country at the time, didn’t make us many friends. As it were, “Sniper” has already picked up the pieces by cleaning up at the B.O.
