ScreenComment is now on the mobile image-sharing service Instagram. We’ve been looking for a way to easily share images derived from films with our fans and determined that in addition to using our Facebook Fan Page, sharing photos on Instagram was a great way to spread the love. The idea behind having the account was manifold: to share enjoyable images with our fans while building our own base of curated images. The thinking behind each image we choose goes like this: does the chosen still serve the cause of the movie or the subject? Is the image flattering to the subject? Would they have chosen this if it were up to them?

With every  film reviewed on the site we’ll publish movie stills on our Instagram account as well as derived images like on-set photos, celeb pics, style & fashion, and festivals. Since Instagram’s format has certain limitations (such as screen real estate) priority will be given to close-up shots whenever possible, with some use of filters, frames and FX.

So far we’ve published series about Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kirsten Dunst, Jodie Foster, Krysten Ritter and Vik Sahay of “Chuck” fame. This May, follow us on Instagram to get daily images from the Cannes Festival.
