El News – An adaptation of the ridiculously popular John Gray book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus is apparently in the works according to Deadline. Bryan Buckley, a director plucked from the advertising world (he’s shot commercials for American Express and Apple) will direct his first feature film using the world-famous 1992 book in which the psychological differences between the sexes are dissected and better communication techniques are provided to the hapless, end-of-my-rope couple.

After rapidly accessing the bestseller lists the book was adapted for television and stage. The script, still being written, will turn the book into a fiction piece. It’s been confirmed that Reese Witherspoon was attached—no male lead confirmed as of this writing.

Shooting is expected to begin early in 2013.
