Lucy Punch, who was last seen in Woody Allen’s “You will meet a tall, dark stranger” has joined the cast of “the giant mechanical man” which began shooting in Detroit a few weeks ago. The film stars Jenna Fischer, Topher Grace, Malin Akerman and Chris Messina.

Written and directed by Lee Kirk, “the giant mechanical man” is an offbeat romantic comedy about two outsiders – a silver-painted street performer (Chris Messina) and the soft-spoken zoo worker who falls for him. Akerman will play Fischer’s well-meaning sister who pushes her towards dating a pompous motivational speaker (Topher Grace). Lucy Punch joins the cast in the role of the street-performer’s girlfriend who disapproves of their lifestyle.
